The Peace River Fire Department presented a small token of appreciation to Gordon and Barb Drummond for their many years of support of the Fire Department at their annual awards night earlier this month.

We'll have some adjusted hours and closures at Town facilities over the holidays.

Alberta Environment and Protected Areas has issued a River Ice Advisory for the Peace River from the Hwy 986 Bridge to the Town of Peace River.

Crews are planned to continue snow removal in Saddleback Friday, Dec. 19, progressing into the South End as conditions allow.

Snow removal and clearing will continue overnight and into the weekend, with crews focused on the South End.

With the heavy snowfall, please remember to check and clear snow and ice from around your home’s vents and exhaust pipes, including furnace, fireplace, and dryer vents.

For residents who recently signed up for the Monthly Tax Payment Plan, your payments will begin being automatically withdrawn starting January 2026. Also, please note that unpaid taxes by the end of the calendar year face an 18% penalty.

Snow Angels is a community-based program facilitated by Peace River FCSS. Residents who need assistance can place a Snow Angels sign on their lawn, and when it snows, volunteers can step in to help out when they’re able.

Evidently Peace River cares about its senior population, because our Adopt-a-Grandparent program saw its highest support ever this year!

Crews will be continuing to focus on clearing and removing snow in Saddleback tomorrow (Thursday, Dec. 18).
