Banners of Remembrance program was launched in 2016, to keep the flame of remembrance burning bright by highlighting our local veterans through commemorative light standard banners. The banners feature a photo and the name of the veteran, and list the conflict they participated in. The banners are typically installed in October and come down after Remembrance Day.
The initial twenty-nine banners were put together based on research by the Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre, and the Royal Canadian Legion. New banners are added to the collection based on banner sponsorship. In 2025 there are over eighty banners.
