Each spring, the Town of Peace River completes street sweeping to remove sand, gravel, and debris left behind after winter. This helps keep dust down, improves drainage, and keeps our roads and neighbourhoods clean.
Current Status (week of April 28-May 1)
We are currently sweeping in Saddleback.
Crews are expected to remain in this area for most of the week. We’ll share updates here when we move to the next neighbourhood.
What to Expect
Street sweeping is done neighbourhood by neighbourhood as crews work their way through town.
- Crews will move through each area as efficiently as possible
- Timing can vary depending on weather, equipment, and conditions
- Some areas may require multiple passes
- There's more debris than usual on the roads after this past winter, so sweeping an area might take a little longer than usual
How You Can Help
If you’d like the area in front of your home fully swept:
- Move vehicles off the street when crews are in your area
If your vehicle is parked on the road, no problem; it just means that spot may be missed and picked up later if time allows.
A Few Helpful Notes
- Sweeping helps reduce dust and keeps catch basins clear
- You may notice temporary dust during operations, which is normal
- Please give crews space to work safely
