Public Works crews have started annual fire hydrant flushing in several areas of town today, including commercial areas of the West Hill and Saddleback.
Hydrant flushing is a routine part of maintaining the water system and helps ensure hydrants are operating properly while improving overall water quality and flow.
During flushing, some residents and businesses may notice temporary cloudy or discoloured water. This can happen when increased water flow stirs up naturally occurring mineral and sediment buildup inside water lines.
If you notice discoloured water:
- Run a cold water tap for several minutes until the water clears
- Avoid doing laundry until water clarity has returned
We appreciate your patience while this maintenance work is completed.
