Welcoming Radiance Florist to Peace River!
Trish Gallant, owner of the shop by the same name in Grimshaw, officially opened her Peace River location yesterday. Kariene Whittley, our Business Retention Specialist, stopped by to give a congrats (and pick up some plants).
Gallant bought the Grimshaw location two years ago after facing what she called "the three C's" in her life.
"We had Covid," recalled Gallant. "I work at the hospital full time, so we were going through a changeover with Connect Care, and my husband got cancer. The three C's. And I'm like, I need a happy outlet – and I bought a flower shop."
The Peace River location on the West Hill will serve as the 'headquarters' for the two stores.
"Flowers make people happy," said Gallant, adding that running the business has provided the hobby relief she was looking for.
"Peace River can definitely expect quality florals, long-lasting florals, custom designs... I really pride myself on local vendors at my establishment, so you're not going to walk in here and find the same items that you can find at any box store."
She was thankful for help from the Peace River Economic Development Committee and the Town for facilitating the new location.
"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the warm welcome I have received in this community," she said. "The kindness and support has made my transition here incredibly enjoyable. I am truly grateful to be part of such an inviting and vibrant community. I look forward to working together."
