At 2:30am this morning the Peace River Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Main Street.
On arrival, the old Shell/Centex gas station (next to the sports store) was fully involved.
Thanks to the ladder truck, the fire was quickly controlled and put out.
No other structures were affected. The power pole and lines were burnt and power was out for most of town for a period during the night.
The fire is out, but some businesses may still be without power. ATCO is working on getting them back up as soon as possible.
