Don't worry! It's not an additional charge.
With the recent utility rate updates, the Town has separated the storm sewer charge so it appears as its own line item. This helps provide clearer transparency on how services are funded.
The storm sewer rate is $0.48 per m³, based on water consumption. Funds collected go directly toward maintaining and repairing storm sewer infrastructure across Peace River. This charge supports drainage systems that help manage runoff and protect roads, properties, and public infrastructure.
So just to be clear: We've provided the storm sewer cost as a separate line item so you can see how that aspect of our water infrastructure is funded and what it costs, but it is not an additional charge. It was previously included in the sewer variable rate.
