Alberta Environment and Protected Areas has issued a River Ice Advisory for the Peace River from the Hwy 986 Bridge to the Town of Peace River.
River levels in the Peace River at the Town of Peace River will begin to rise in response to the approaching ice front over the next few days.
The new ice cover may be unstable and water levels between the Town of Peace River and the Hwy 986 Bridge could fluctuate rapidly with an ice cover consolidation.
When freeze-up occurs at the Town of Peace River, it is typical for the water level to rise between 2.5 to 3.5 m.
