Rail Safety Week

We live in a place where trains regularly pass through.

And though it's a nice sight, we have to bear in mind our responsibility to be safe around them.
In 2024, Canada saw 261 railway crossing and trespassing incidents, leading to 68 fatalities and 58 serious injuries, according to Operation Lifesaver.

Operation Lifesaver and CN remind us that railways are private property, and that staying alert near tracks saves lives.

Mayor Elaine Manzer proclaimed September 15–21, 2025 as Rail Safety Week to help raise awareness, prevent injuries, and keep our community safe.
