A Message of Appreciation from the Peace River Fire Department

The Peace River Fire Department presented a small token of appreciation to Gordon and Barb Drummond for their many years of support of the Fire Department at their annual awards night earlier this month.

Through their Tim Horton's store, they have donated thousands of dollars of coffee, muffins and donuts for the department's annual Regional Fire Conference as well as the Fire Hall Open House during Fire Prevention Week.

But the one thing that the firefighters are all really appreciative of is that when they are on a long structure fire call, and it is in the early hours of the morning and everyone is getting cold and hungry…. Chief Tim Harris can call up Gordon on his cell phone, no matter what time of day or night, and before he even asks, Gordon is offering to organize coffee, sandwiches, and whatever else the firefighters need, often personally going to the store to pick it up and bring it to the fire scene, and never charges for it.

It is that kind of support, when the firefighters need it the most, that is truly appreciated by Chief Harris and all the firefighters and really makes a difference on the call.
