Is it pee, poo, or toilet paper?
If it's not, don't flush it!
Earlier this year, we *almost* had an incident with paper towels in pipes that would have caused significant damage to surrounding properties. The pipes were backed up, but luckily, we caught it in time.
This is a reminder to make sure to only flush items that are supposed to be flushed.
Do not flush:
❌ Paper towels
❌ Sanitary products of any kind
❌ Facial tissue
❌ Dental floss
❌ Fat, oils, and grease
❌ So-called 'flushable' wipes (regularly mislabelled and do not break down in sewers)
❌ Lego
❌ TVs
❌ Pictures of your ex
❌ And whatever else you can imagine if it's not pee, poo, or toilet paper
These and similar items can cause expensive backups and system failures.
Thank you for keeping our sewer system healthy!
