Hazard Reduction Burns

Hazard Reduction Burns Planned – Starting Tuesday, April 8

Over the next couple of weeks, the Peace River Fire Department will be conducting controlled hazard reduction burns in select areas around town. These planned burns help reduce fire risk and support the safe maintenance of our green spaces.

Current Plan – Tuesday, April 8 (Evening):

  • Primary burn area: North end near the Off-Leash Dog Park (71 Ave & 99 St)
  • Additional areas (weather and time permitting):
    • Around Coolsprings Park
    • Near the High School
    • 90 Ave & 99 St

Please note that all burns are weather dependent and subject to change. Other areas are being considered for a later date (TBD), based on conditions.

Members of the PRFD will be on scene, with assistance from Forestry Fire Crews. While every effort will be made to limit the impact on nearby homes, some smoke may drift toward residential areas.

Thank you for your understanding as we carry out this important fire prevention work.
