Did you catch our Governance and Priorities meeting last night?
Here are some highlights:
- Council discussed the Council Remuneration, Travel, and Expense Policy. Among other changes to the policy, Council directed Administration to clarify that professional development cost coverage does not include participation in organizations or clubs that require membership. Additionally, in response to community discussions around the subject, Council discussed and ultimately agreed to continue the practice of supplying meals to members before Council meetings. Administration will return the policy to a future Council meeting for formal adoption.
- Council discussed the Offsite Levy Policy, which governs how the Town assesses levies on new developments to help pay for future infrastructure. Council directed Administration to return the policy to a future Council meeting with discussed changes, including reducing the off-site levy deferment threshold #1 to start at $2,500.
- Council discussed the 2026 Draft Utility Budget. It will be returning to Council for further consideration in the future.
