With the heavy snowfall, please remember to check and clear snow and ice from around your home’s vents and exhaust pipes, including furnace, fireplace, and dryer vents.
Blocked vents can cause carbon monoxide (CO) to build up inside homes. Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless gas that can be dangerous.
If you’re able, take a few minutes to safely clear snow away from exterior vents and make sure CO alarms in your home are working, and keep vents clear as snow continues to fall.
