Last week, Mayor Shannon, Councillor Dous (not pictured below), Councillor Erickson, Councillor Forsythe and our CAO, Kayla Parsons, represented the Town of Peace River at the 2026 ABMunis' Convention & Trade Show. This annual event is an opportunity for council and town administration to network with other municipalities and the provincial government, advocate for policy changes that will help improve life in Peace River and participate in educational sessions.
Some highlights from this year:
- Participated in Q&A sessions with Provincial Ministers
- Voted on advocacy initiatives for the ABMuni's organization to prioritize
- Met with RCMP Commanding Officer, Deputy Commissioner Trevor Daroux, and representatives from the Crown Prosecutors' office
- Participated in educational sessions on communications, community building, infrastructure, and public safety
