Update from Alberta's River Forecast Centre:

2025-03-25 8:01 PM Heart River at the Town of Peace River

Recent warm temperatures caused snowmelt that increased water levels and cleared the ice on part of the Heart River on March 25. The ice jammed against the intact Peace River ice and caused minor flooding to parkland at the 12 Foot Davis Events Park.

Water levels appear to have peaked at the gauge near Nampa and are forecasted to decline in the impacted areas in the next few days.

The RFC will continue to monitor conditions 24/7 on the Heart River and nearby tributaries for signs of increasing snowmelt or rising water levels but no further impacts are expected.

Advisories apply to streams and their tributaries unless otherwise noted.
