During an emergency Town of Peace River Emergency Social Services (ESS) provides immediate short-term assistance including food and temporary lodging. Our team trains and prepares throughout the year to be ready to assist whether an emergency impacts our own residents or one of our neighbouring communities needs help during an evacuation.
Restaurant Registration
The Town of Peace River has supported evacuated communities during past emergency responses. Through the Food Voucher Program, the Town provides meal vouchers for use at participating local restaurants. Businesses wishing to participate must complete the online registration form in advance of the hazard season.
If the Town is activated to provide evacuee services, the registered businesses will be contacted to start providing services.

Restaurants/food service within Grocery Stores
All participating businesses must be able to fulfill the requirements of the program, specifically the following:
- Provide detailed receipts for each purchase
- Enforce and ensure all purchases are for food purchases only, and any items outside of this will not be reimbursed to the business.
- Be located within the Town of Peace River
To register for the season please complete and submit the registration form.

During an active evacuation please direct your questions to ess@peaceriver.ca in order to reach the ESS team. The Community Services office may be closed while staff works in the Evacuation Centre.
