This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The Town of Peace River has issued a Flood alert.
There is a potential of flooding of the Heart River and surrounding areas.
Prepare for a possible evacuation on very short notice. Fuel your vehicles, gather important documents, medication, pets, and food and water. Prepare to be away from home for at least 3 days. No evacuation is required at this time. Avoid the river area. Stay tuned for updates.
This alert is in effect for everyone from the Highway 2 Bridge to 104 Ave in the South End (all of the Downtown, and areas close to the Heart River). See map for details.

The Town of Peace River has declared a State of Local Emergency due to the potential for flooding of low-lying areas as river break-up continues.
This step gives the Town additional authority to act quickly and take any necessary measures to protect residents, property, and critical infrastructure.
