The Town of Peace River is accepting applications for one (1) permanent, full-time Labourer within the Public Works Department. Reporting to the Public Works Foreman, this position plays an important role in maintaining the infrastructure and services that keep our community running safely and efficiently year-round.
The Labourer 1 is a semi-skilled position responsible for a variety of hands-on operational and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include operating equipment for snow clearing and ice control, assisting with utility excavations and repairs, performing maintenance on municipal infrastructure, and supporting other Town departments as operational needs require. This role is well suited to individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in practical work, and are committed to providing reliable service to the community.
The ideal candidate will have the following key characteristics:
• Experience operating light equipment, hand and power tools.
• A background working with a modern safety program.
• The ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a professional manner at all times.
• Possessing a Class 5 License.
• Knowledge of municipal infrastructure is an asset.
The position needs someone with a willingness to be on-call, take action in emergency response (ie, during flooding, etc.), and a desire to be part of building a great community.

Wage: $25.33 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday
40 hours per week
On call required.
