  1. Overview
    1. The Town of Peace River is accepting bids from interested parties for the purchase and removal of the log cabin located at 10006 96 Ave, Peace River, Alberta. 
    2. The Town requires bidders to understand they are fully responsible for the complete removal and transportation of the building following the successful award. 
  2. Privilege
    1. The Town reserves the right to:
      1. Suspend or cancel the Request for Bids at any time for any reason without penalty.
      2. Reject any and all bids or accept any bid or part thereof.
      3. In the event that a number of proponents submit bids substantially the same amount, the Town may, at its discretion, call upon those proponents to submit further bids.
  3. Description
    1. The building will be sold in as is condition, there are no warranties. The Town is unable to provide any historical documentation on the building’s construction. 
    2. It is estimated that the structure was built in the 1980’s of log construction. 
    3. The building is approximately 750 Square Feet. 
    4. Layout includes 2 metal exterior doors, 1 small room separate from a larger open space, includes 2 washrooms (toilet & sink only), 1 storage room and utility room. 
    5. Roof is cedar shakes – year unknown.
    6. Contents include 1 Furnace, 1 hot water tank, 2 toilets, 2 bathroom sinks and lighting fixtures.

  4. Responsibilities
    1. Town
      1. The Town of Peace River will be responsible for all utility disconnections: water, power, gas, telecommunications.

    2. Bidder
      1. The successful bidder will be responsible for the lifting, removal and transportation of the structure.  This will include all permits required by the municipality, Alberta Transportation and any others.

      3. The successful bidder must remove the structure from the property no later than September 30, 2025.  Note: Road closures from the location will not be accommodated during the week of June 16th, 2025, due to a significant event occurring downtown.
  5. Site Visit
    1. A site visit to review the structure is available:
      1. April 23rd, 2025, 4:00pm to 6:00pm 
  6. Bid Requirements

    All bids must use the attached form, which includes: Organization Name (if applicable) (Indicate if you are a private individual or Not for Profit Organization); Contact information, including mail, phone and email; Contact name; Proposed purchase amount.

Bid submission must also include a deposit equivalent to 10% of the offer, with the balance + G.S.T. to be paid within 30 days of being notified as successful bidder.
