Peace Country Health covers over 150,000 square kilometres. Staff and physicians provide health services to a population of 130,000 people based out of facilities in 16 communities (information obtained from Peace Country Health's website, 2004).
The Peace River Community Health Care Centre (pictured above), opened June 4, 2001 on the westhill of Peace River. Service features at the Centre include:

- 30 acute care beds
- General surgery
- Intensive care unit
- Medicine
- Obstetrics
- Occupational therapy
- Outpatients
- Palliative care
- Pediatric
- Physiotherapy
- Registered dietitian
- Respiratory therapy
- Volunteer services
- X-ray and lab
- Cardiac stress testing
- Breast screening, mammography & biopsy
- Outreach chemotherapy treatment
- Outreach dialysis
- Telehealth services
- Visiting specialists to the Centre include: a cardiologist, dermatologist, ENT, ophthalmologist, orthopedist, psychiatrist, child psychiatrist, and rheumatologist.
The 40-bed Sutherland Place Continuing Care Centre adjoining the Health Centre, opened in July 2003. The Care Centre offers 24-hour registered nursing care, medical services, occupational therapy, palliative care, physiotherapy, recreation therapy, respite care, and volunteer services.
Peace River also has a number of chiropractors, dentists, denturists, optometrists, mental health practitioners, and pharmacists.
