Fire Department Conducting Emergency Training

Residents of Shaftesbury Estates may notice emergency lights, vehicles and personnel in their neighbourhood tonight and firefighters will likely show up at your door.

From about 7pm to 9pm firefighters will be conducting an emergency preparedness drill in the area. The drill simulates an evacuation during to a chemical release at the water treatment plant, during which firefighters will be going door to door in the neighbourhood. Please do not be alarmed, this is only an exercise, firefighters will come to your door, explain what’s happening and then leave.
